You are looking at the beautiful wedding dress that made me feel like a queen. My wedding day was such a happy one and I wish I could have worn the dress forever! But now that the wedding and honeymoon are past, it seems unfair just to stuff the dress in the loft. It deserves another outing, which is why I am offering it to you here today.
This sleeveless illusion wedding gown from Mon Cheri is an A-line dress, adorned with lace and crystal beads that are concentrated around the bodice, then cascade down the length of the dress. The lace and beading detail is just exquisite and the photos don’t do it justice!
The dress has a deep V-shaped neckline with slightly off the shoulder straps, and an open V-shape showing off your back. The lace is sheer over the shoulders. The sheer layers of fabric sweep to the side at the midriff to flow over the underskirt. The chapel length train also has detail of the lace and crystal bead detail on the border. The train can be bustled. There are 24 fabric-covered buttons that hide a zip and hooks up the back. The same button detail is echoed in the front with 8 buttons down the center of the bodice.
This model is called “Chelsea” (18269) and this is a size 14 UK in ivory. It is in perfect condition with no marks or stains, and the dress was professionally dry cleaned by wedding gown specialists Perry de Montaignac in London in August 2009 after a June 2009 wedding. It has been preserved with acid- and lignin-free paper.
This beautiful dress was featured in the Bride of the Year editorial story in the Sept/Oct issue of Bridal Guide and is one of Mon Cheri’s best sellers. I got it from a small, independently owned bridal shop in Uckfield. It originally cost £1150.
Writing about my dress makes me wish I could wear it again, but I hope it finds a new home with a bride as happy as I was! I’ve tried to give as much information as I can because I know that buying a dress is an emotional as well as financial decision. If you have any questions about it, don’t hesitate to ask.

Tips on how the dress fits:
The A-line shape would flatter any body type. This dress emphasizes the waist and shows off your cleavage, but hides the hips and tummy with enhanced bodice construction. I am 5’3” and I wore a 3-inch heel with the dress. The hem just brushed the top of my shoes.
Due to the way the dress is constructed, the seams don’t have much margin and probably could not be let out. However, it could be taken in to make a smaller fit. I weighed 155 pounds and this dress fit me snugly.
I have a full cup bra size 32-J and just fit into the top of the dress, wearing a K-cup bra on the day. The back plunges to just above the bra line (so you can wear a bra with it if you want).
I had a professional seamstress add a small amount of matching lace under the arms and across the deepest part of the cleavage to hide the bra, but these could be easily removed as they were hand-sewn.
